How the Bitcoin Blueprint website looks like Sara, quality of our lunch, excellent service (Elizabeth), I will be returning to this excellent seafood restaurant. Sara stopped and introduced herself and I was impressed with her vast culinary knowledge, excellent inter-personal communication skills, perpetually-in-motion to cover all her duties and responsibilities, and all with a positive attitude. We enjoyed the Black Currant Iced Tea, different but refreshing. We both shared a Truffle Mac & Cheese dish which was light and flavorful, complementing our sandwiches. My friend and I both had the Lobster Roll and the meat was fresh and sweet. The in-house cocktail sauce had a nice spicy kick and the Mustard Aioli was perfect on this hot summer day. Mixed oysters plate, followed by Crispy Calamari. Service (Elizabeth) was attentive, congenial and professional. MoreĪfter several years of procrastinating, I finally dropped by for lunch and "Impressive" is the adjective to describe my friend and my dining experience. This is not somewhere I would go just to have a quick lunch but for a special outing it was a good choice. We had a nice time for a "special lunch" gathering. I believe these were around $10 or so as there were no prices on the dessert menus. Some ordered desert of the Sorbet and also the Chocolate Mousse and these were delicious. There were only a few people during the time we were there so no busy at all and the noise level was very low. It came out warm, slightly grilled, but very dry and no butter. The food was good and everyone seemed to enjoy their choices, but we had to request bread as none was served. The presentation of the meals was very nice and the servings were what you would expect at this type venue. We all choice different fare for our lunches which included: Silo Soup of the Day, which was Sweet Potato with bacon bits and chives $8, Grilled Oysters Rockefeller $17, Shrimp Nicoise $15, Baby Spinach Salad $9, Parmesan Crusted Chicken w/ angel hair pasta $15, and the Lobster Roll w/parmesan-herb fries $27. They offer paper menus and have a large selection of wine offerings by the glass and by the bottle. Our waiter, Evan was prompt, courteous and efficient. The steak was overcooked and the cut of meat wasn’t that great. This place isn’t very fancy and the food is a little overpriced for the quality. For dinner, we split the 14 oz boneless ribeye and the petite seafood platter. We ordered a 2006 Bourdeaux wine that was superb and prices on bottles were pretty reasonable. We asked to move and luckily they were able to accommodate our request. First we were sat at a four person table when there were plenty more intimate 2 person tables around. After 15 minutes went by, we decided to go inside to check if our table was ready. We were constantly having to flag down our waitress for wine and they shorted us an oyster! They never told us when our reservation time arrived. We tried 4 different types on the menu and they were all so unique and different. The oysters are ½ off during happy hour, which made them a great deal. We got here an hour early to sit on the terrace and have happy hour wine and oysters. That’s why a change came to Full Self-Driving, and Tesla added access to FSD through a subscription-based model: an owner-limited, temporary purchase of FSD features.Īs for a paid-in-full Full Self-Driving package, owners will have a short opportunity to pass their purchase on to another owner through a used Tesla sale (much like owners selling a Model S or Model X with Free Unlimited Supercharging ). Tesla will likely be incurring a larger expense than they anticipated when it comes time to upgrade all the legacy FSD (and Enhanced Autopilot, or EAP) Teslas out there. Similar to their struggle with Free Unlimited Supercharging, Tesla has tried one purchase model for Full Self-Driving and found that they have been unable to deliver the final product in the timeline expected. What’s an automaker to do when their product is a literal computer on wheels, creating a hybrid of two industries (computer and automotive) with the problems and expectations of each? However, as Full Self-Driving is often seen as a software purchase, many people expect to own a license to the software they’ve purchased with the option to transfer its benefits to their next purchase. Typically, it makes little sense to give an owner the opportunity to carry their Tesla’s features with them to the next car, much like it would for an owner to sell their car but keep the driver’s seat. More importantly, the purchase of Full Self-Driving came with a promise of hardware upgrades and software updates to support Autopilot features that Tesla was (and is) still developing.īut as the timeline for a roll-out of feature-complete Full Self-Driving remains uncertain, owners are curious about how this affects their purchase of FSD as it relates to buying and selling a Tesla. When Tesla first introduced Full Self-Driving, they changed the Tesla Autopilot (AP) / Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) structure, rearranging into basic Autopilot features (Traffic Aware Cruise Control and Autosteer) and more advanced features FSD features like Summon (and those still in beta, such as Navigate on Autopilot). Why is Transferring Tesla’s Full Self-Driving So Complicated? In this blog post, we’re going to give a full overview of why Full Self-Driving transfer is a complex issue, when FSD transfers and when it doesn’t, and where to sell (or buy) a used Tesla with FSD included. Since Tesla’s stance on transferring Full Self-Driving has fluctuated over the years, Tesla owners are understandably confused about what exactly it is that they own (or don’t). What, exactly, is the value of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Software in a sale or trade-in ? Does FSD stay with the car and transfer to the new owner? Can you get some of your Full Self-Driving money back when you sell your used Tesla? Since Tesla’s subscription service for their famous Full Self-Driving (FSD) Autopilot software rolled out in 2021, owners of fully-purchased FSD have been left in a curious position… Keep in mind that brightness can influence your TV's longevity - check out why you should adjust your TV’s brightness. Newer models today have more than 1,500 nits in brightness. As for TVs, anything within 100 to 400 nits is considered low luminance. Like most electronics, it is measured in nits which is equal to one candela – the approximate amount of light from one candle. Many TV manufacturers are prioritizing HDR on premium LED TVs with 4K quality than 1080p or 720p so there’s no need to choose between the two.īrightness is a measurement of your TV’s maximum luminance. 4K simply refers to the resolution of the image while HDR is more of a feature. Contrary to what most people think, HDR and 4K are not competing standards. It is the contrast or color range between the lightest and darkest tones in an image. HDR (high dynamic range) is your TV’s ability to electronically enhance image quality. If you try to produce the same image on a modern 16:9 HD screen, it will appear stretched on the top and side or have black spaces. For example, old CRT TVs are square and therefore have a 4:3 aspect ratio. Along with that is the screen’s aspect ratio which is the relationship between the height and width of your TV - in other words, how the image is oriented. Resolution defines the clarity of an image based on the number of pixels on both length and width dimensions. If you don’t want to do the math, here is a quick guide on TV size and viewing distance: If you sit too far away from an exceedingly small screen, you would not be able to see enough detail in the picture. This is important because if you sit too close to a disproportionately large TV, you can easily spot individual pixels which ruin the experience. According to the audio-visual authority THX, the optimal distance from your sofa (or wherever you may be viewing) is dividing the screen size by 0.84. It is easy to assume that “bigger is always better” when it comes to choosing TV sizes. When buying a brand-new LED TV, you should look at the size and viewing distance, its aspect ratio and resolution, and other features.Īs a standard for measuring TVs and monitors, screen size is measured diagonally from one corner to the other. There’s much more to consider than the arrangement of your diodes. This type of backlighting arrangement is often found on mid- to low-range TVs. This means individual LEDs cannot be controlled individually when showing dark scenes, unlike the full array. Direct-lit – like with a full array, a direct-lit has backlighting behind the crystal membrane of the panel although with fewer diodes. This type of LED arrangement is often seen on lower-end TVs and computer monitors. However, the design often causes “flashlighting” where some areas are unnecessarily brighter than others during dark scenes. Because only the edges need to have LED, this type of TV is often thin and sleek. Edge-lit – unlike the full array, edge-lit LED TVs have, well, edge backlighting.A full array LED TV has a better contrast ratio when showing dark scenes, which it achieves by dimming specific areas to highlight the image. Full array – commonly found in high-end and mid-tier models, this type of backlighting follows an even distribution of LEDs across the panel. There are three types of LED TVs depending on how individual LED backlighting is distributed across the panel: full array, edge-lit, and direct-lit. Except for the backlighting, LEDs and LCDs use the same type of panels. Think of them as a window shutter, allowing light to pass through or block out.ĭespite what most TV manufacturers have led you to believe, LED is a type of LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) but instead of a CCFLL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Light) as a light source, it uses light-emitting diodes. When electricity passes through these layers, it causes them to align a certain way to transmit light. Your garden-variety LED TV is composed of two layers of polarizing material and liquid crystal solution. LED stands for “light-emitting diode” which is the type of light source used on its panels. The most popular types of TVs use LED (light-emitting diodes) or UHD to project images. From humble beginnings as bulky CRTs (cathode-ray tubes) to flat-screen sets, and now internet-ready monitors, TVs are the centrepiece of your living room. The invention of the TV or television set has forever changed home entertainment since its invention in 1940. Update 1.30 prepared existing Italy areas for the Italia DLC. Update 1.26 included reworked parts of France, parts outside of Vive la France DLC. Early updates included the cities of Venice, Graz and Klagenfurt. As the initial game areas were mainly ported from older SCS Software games, these older areas did not stand up to the quality of recent expansion packs. The initial reception from fans and media highlighted that areas such as the UK appeared to be unrealistic. Part of SCS Software's recent development philosophy for Euro Truck Simulator 2, amongst releasing paid downloadable map packs, is to improve old areas of the map. There are seven items of map downloadable content (DLC) that expand the game to more countries and locations, and multiple other truck and trailer DLCs.Įxcluding downloadable packs, the base game features Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, north-eastern France, Germany, northern Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, western Poland, Bratislava in Slovakia, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The base game features 71 cities in twelve countries, over twenty types of cargo and over fifteen fictional European companies. This progression allows the player to take on better-paying jobs. Skill points can be used to unlock deliveries that require different ADR classes, longer distance deliveries, special cargo loads, fragile cargo loads, deliveries that are urgent and eco-driving. A skill point is awarded after each level-up. The player gains experience points after each delivery. The skills of the drivers hired by the player also grow with experience and the player can create a huge fleet of the trucks, each with the option of having their own trailer, and drivers to drive the fleet, in turn, expanding the business across Europe. Money earned in the game can be spent on upgrading or purchasing new customizable trucks and ownable trailers, hiring non-player character drivers to take on deliveries, buying more garages and expanding them to accommodate more trucks and drivers. As the player earns money or takes bank loans, they can eventually afford to buy themselves a truck, acquire a home garage, and start accepting better-paying jobs by using their own truck instead of being a driver for hire with equipment being provided. At first, the player can only take what is known as quick jobs-these jobs involve making hired driver deliveries while employed by a delivery company, with a provided truck and all expenses (fuel, road tolls, ferry crossings) covered. When starting out, players choose their headquarters location in any of the game map's cities. Players will have to spend money on refuelling, toll costs in certain countries, and maintenance costs if damage is incurred. The payload must be delivered to the destination within a given amount of time, and with the least amount of damage to the goods as possible, in order to get the most money and experience points possible. Players drive articulated trucks in an open world rendition of Europe, delivering loads to a designated locations in order to be compensated with money and experience points. The front grills are tweed and attached with a handful of tiny staples that are only possible to find with a magnet, so they stayed on for this review. This pair was made back in 1987 when Bose speakers were still made in America. The pair of speaker I have for review are the most recent iteration of the 901 design, the Series VI. This is the speaker that back in 1968 proved commercial viability of omnidirectional, dipole, and all sorts of bizarre dispersion patterns.Įven today you can see some of these same ideas being used in new products such as Audio Kinesis "Late Ceiling Splash" technology, where very directional speakers are coupled with delayed reflections that add emersion to the listening experience. One full range driver in the front, 8 on the back, 4 port tubes, and an active EQ box to make it sound reasonable. Profits from Bose smart manufacturing, not corner cutting, has funded research that shaped much of today's the audio landscape.Īll of that said, in general, Bose products do sound like shit. As for the argument that their gear is overpriced, I've heard much worse for much more. Bose was doing research using Dummy heads and figuring out head related transfer functions in the 70's that laid the ground work for headphone and VR breakthroughs that are happening now. They were installing EQ'ed Class D active speaker modules in the doors of Cadillac's back in 1984. If you enjoy a high quality factory car stereo, you can thank Bose for that as well. If you have a satellite speakers or a subwoofer, you can thank Bose for popularizing that form factor. Truth is a little different, Amar Bose was definitely not an evil man, instead one of the world's great philanthropists, and his company pushed the boundaries of audio more that most people realize. We will respond as quickly as possible. In audiophile circles Bose is usually a punch line to a joke, or even seen as the great corporate evil of audio.īose is known only using paper cone drivers pushed into unusually small boxes, never publishing frequency response specs, and suing Consumer Reports for giving them a bad review.Įven though paper is a good material to use for speaker drivers, and plenty of audiophile companies don't publish specs, the perception is that Bose is overpriced junk. Bose 901 Speakers Series VI with Tulip Stands and Active Equalizer USA Near Mint Some provide HCEI in response to unsolicited medical requests only some restrict dissemination of this information to medical affairs staff (such as medical science liaisons) or to health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) staff while others allow payor account managers to present limited HCEI. In the absence of clear regulatory guidance, pharmaceutical manufacturers created their own policies for sharing HCEI. Around the same time, the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) convened a panel of diverse stakeholders to develop and share with the FDA considerations for updating FDAMA 114 based on the current decision-making landscape ( 8). The goal of these principles was to guide the industry in promotional communications with these two distinct audiences. In July of 2016, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) released their “Principles on Responsible Sharing of Truthful and Non-Misleading Information about Medicines with Health Care Professionals and Payers” ( 7). However, the regulatory language did not establish clear guardrails for this information exchange. The goal of FDAMA 114 was to facilitate the exchange of HCEI between pharmaceutical manufacturers and formulary committees or similar entities. In 1997, Section 114 of the Food and Drug Modernization Act (FDAMA) was enacted, easing the evidentiary standard from “substantial evidence” to “competent and reliable scientific evidence” (CARSE) ( 6). Prior to 1997, manufacturers had to demonstrate “substantial evidence,” usually from two randomized controlled trials, in order to promote HCEI ( 5). 21st Century Cures Act and FDA Guidance-Healthcare Economic Information Payors have suggested that the ideal timeframe to have these conversations is 12–18 months prior to approval, which would allow for appropriate planning and forecasting decisions ( 4). They claim that waiting for FDA approval leaves them too little time to initiate the planning, forecasting, and budgeting that is needed to accommodate a new product launch. Many payors were blindsided by the launch of the hepatitis C drugs and the impact this had on their budgets ( 3). Given that the US is becoming more value-focused, it may come as no surprise that payors have expressed interest in receiving information on pipeline agents. While pharmaceutical manufacturers have made strides in responding to value assessment considerations, the industry has historically been reluctant to share healthcare economic information (HCEI) with formulary decision-makers due to unclear regulatory guidance for these types of communications. Around the same time, the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER), which conducts formal Cost/QALY economic analyses, emerged as an influential force in the discussion of value assessments ( 2). In March of 2014, the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association issued guidance on value considerations including Cost/QALY thresholds ( 1). In response to this renewed value focus, professional societies have put forward value frameworks. As US healthcare costs continue to rise, decision-makers involved in population health management have put a greater focus on the economics and quality of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
